And Today's Surprise Was...

A practice birthday party for Conner! Sure there’s still five weeks until his birthday, but we don’t know that we will be back here before then, and Gammie and Poppy won’t be coming our direction either. What’s the harm in doing it now?! He was so surprised. ("Oh my gorilla!") Gammie made him a beautiful Wall-e cake. (Sorry no shirts…family birthday party, icing that stains, no shirts!) and he got a Wall-e game for the wii. Thanks, Gammie and Poppy. He also got some Moonsand. Moonsand is some weird/cool stuff that is somewhere between play-doh and beach sand. Lots of fun…very messy! Thanks, Uncle Adam and Aunt Caroline… And then there was the bag full of superhero stuff from Aggie and Uncle Kevin. A cool Batman action figure, a batman costume and a Spiderman costume. (And a little Spiderman action figure for Micah.) Conner kind of claimed Batman and Micah claimed Spiderman. They were so cute!
Micah was soooo very good watching Conner open his presents. He never even asked to help or anything. (We’re thinking he was probably just assuming that everything was for both of them – which it kind of was!) Joey even got to taste a tiny bit of the icing. Then it was naptime. Micah took a good nap, Conner played with the moonsand – and then the dustbuster! – and Joey had his first taste of rice cereal. Not too bad...
Then, when everyone woke up, we were off to Chuck E. Cheese’s. I’m really not sure who was more excited – Conner/Micah, or Bret/Kevin/Poppy. Micah and Conner played their little games …but it was the big boys (Bret, Kevin, and Poppy) who brought in all of the tickets. Chuck E. Cheese was even needing kids to help him dance on the stage!
Joey chilled with Gammie at the table and ate a toy. He didn’t seem to be real sure about what all was going on. The boys got way cool prizes thanks to all the tickets that the bigger boys won. What a great day! Thank you, Conner, for being so willing to celebrate you birthday so early!
