Some of My Favorite Pictures from May...

This is "The Land of Great Discovery." Conner had tons of fun eating donuts and reading his Bible here!
Okay, so the yard really needs to be mowed, but it made for some great pictures!
Swimming at Franco's:

Take pictures of my silly faces, Mom!

Got my sunglasses and keys - I'm ready to go!
I fit just right under the table!

This is a cute red popsicle picture, but it almost looks like something from a horror movie!

Riding my tractor in the "full moon!"

We love the sandbox at the "Bumpy Slide Playground!"

Gig 'em!

I know I'm cute!

Moving day is just a few days away. Conner has been wanting to pack a box, so today was his day. I turned him loose with some markers to start labeling.

Then it was time to put something in the box...

...After lots of fun playing, Conner decided that he and Micah would rather go to Gammie's house in a couple of days while Mommy and Daddy move the boxes, than sit in this box until then! He filled it with some of his favorite stuffed animals instead.

We're Moving!

We are moving! Bret has officially accepted the job as preaching minister here. It looks like after months and months of endless job searches and thinking we were only going to be here for a year, we are going to stay put where we are. So, the first item of business was to find a new house.
For those of you who don't know, we moved here 8 months after Hurricane Katrina. Bret had accepted a temporary, one-year position as the Outreach Minister at our church, planning to help minister to the spiritual needs of people whom the church has helped physically following the storm. As you can imagine, housing was extremely difficult to find, especially rental property! Bret ended up moving here in April without the boys and I. Six weeks of living in different states later, he called and said that he had found a house, and we could come down and join him. He warned me, however, that this house was not a house we would have ever chosen if we had any options on the table. It was in pretty bad shape, but it was a house that we could all live in together, and hey, it was only for a year, right?
Well, like I said, as this exhausting year of endless job searches has ended with us staying put, we have decided that we are also exhausted of hot water heaters that don't work, kitchen cabinets falling off the walls, broken promises from the landlord, an unreliable and extremely inefficient (therefore expensive to run) air conditioner, and more. It is time to move!
We found this house the first day that we started looking, and signed the contract two days later. We love it! Conner's favorite amenity is the 20 doors in the house. (Due to a very sad lack of closet/pantry space, the house we are in now has only 10...4 of which do not work properly, and we therefore do not really use. Twenty perfectly working doors is very exciting!) We move on June 1st, and are so excited!

It is such an exciting and satisfying moment when your child finally says, "Please?" Usually by the time they start saying it, you have been prompting them for months, because the first time they asked, they were not really asking, but demanding! Micah has finally started acknowledging our prompt to say, "Please?" but it is not with an attempt to say it! Instead, he crinkles his nose up. Over the past couple of days, it has become a pretty established pattern. He wants something, we say, "Say please," he crinkles his nose up, and then grins. If we don't give it to him right then, he'll crinkle his nose up again. Too cute!

The Making of a Kool-aid Moustache

I just thought this sequence of pictures was funny...
