For Conner's birthday this year, we signed him up for soccer. This is our first venture into the world of kid's team sports. We're very excited, but anxious, too. We'll just have to see if he likes it! We are playing with the YMCA - the most non-competitive organization we could find. They have a short 8 week season, and the games consist of a thirty minute practice immediately followed by a thirty minute game on Saturdays only. (Many of the other clubs around have mid-week practices and hour-long Saturday games. Ugh!) Here's how the first game went:
By the time practice was over, Conner was hot, tired, and ready to go home. "But I already played soccer. I don't want to play anymore!"

It wasn't too long before his friend, Brian, came to see him play for a few minutes. Sharing Brian's "hot chips" was much more exciting and worthwhile than playing soccer!

Yay! We finally convinced him to go out and give it a try. Here they are lining up for the kick.
Micah brought his own, "goccer ball" to play on the sidelines...

...but eventually Micah got hot and tired, too.

Good game, everyone! (We'll see how next week goes...!)
