Got Our Wings

We flew on an airplane today. Mom and Dad have been visiting. Dad flew home a couple of days ago, and we are flying home with Mom today. Bret will come get us in a week and a half or so. This was Conner's and Micah's first time on a plane, and my first time in about 8 years. A lot has changed! But, we did actually make it through security, and the boys did really well.

Here we are getting out of the van and going into the airport. We've got them both strapped in, even though Conner really outgrew "The Boat" a long time ago!Conner enjoyed watching the lights...

...and Micah just chilled.Then, as we were landing, Conner exclaimed very loudly, "You're gonna have to talk loud to me. I can't hear so good. I've got an ear problem!" And his ears started popping. We tried gum and candy and yawning, but nothing was working very well, and he eventually started panicking and crying. Finally, BooBoo convinced him to try just thinking of something else, which, in addition to actually landing, started to work!They didn't actually get a little pin with wings on it or anything for their first flight, but we made it, and with all told, the boys both did great! (I'm not interested in trying to fly with both of them by myself anytime soon, though!)

Yogi and BooBoo

One of the best gifts we got on Christmas Day was a visit from Yogi and BooBoo. They actually stayed for several days. Here's some of what we did:

Yogi got lots of Micah cuddles. Conner played a lot of tee ball.

We, of course, ate ice cream with Yogi .
And, even though it was cold, we played outside some.

Yogi and the boys even came up with a new game - Yogi drug them through the house while they rode on Conner comforter!

Our Family

Bret's one year contract with Tammany Oaks will be over in April. He is still in the middle of the interview process with several different churches right now. They are all in Texas, and though they all say they would like to meet all of us, so far Bret has been the only one to be flown in for any interviews. Everyone does ask for pictures, though, and since the last one we have of all of us together is getting a bit dated, we thought we'd take advantage of Mom and Dad being here and try for another one. It's so hard to get two kids to both look and the camera and smile nicely at the same time! Here are some of the better ones:

None of them are great of all of us, but they pretty much all give a glimpse into what we're really like!

Santa Came!

Conner and Micah, of course, left cookies for Santa last night.Then, after they went to bed, Santa came and left the toys, but he forgot to put them together. So, as his "elves" were digging for batteries and deciphering instructions, Micah woke up and caught them! So, since he is only 10 months old and doesn't know better anyway, he got a little bit of a sneak peak. :) After Micah went back to sleep, the elves finished up, and this is what the boys saw when they woke up in the morning:Santa loved his cookies and even left a little note!
Santa was actually able to find some "noisy puzzles!" (Hallelujah!)And Conner did get his piano. It's pretty cool - it can be hooked up to the TV and is interactive.

After opening presents, we went to the airport to pick up Yogi and BooBoo. They will be staying with us for a few days. I'm sure I'll post some pictures from that in a few days.

Big Puddle

It's been raining and raining and raining and raining...

We have a huge puddle out behind the house. Conner found his water boots today and had at it!

Christmas with Gammie and Poppy

We got to open presents a few days early when Gammie, Poppy, Aggie, and Uncle Adam came to visit. Here's some of the favorites:
