Pink - It's Not Just for Girls

One of Josiah's school friends invited him to come make playdoh today. Usually we go to storytime at the library on Wednesdays, but this sounded like too much fun to pass up!

The moms ended up making the playdoh - a pink batch and a blue batch - while the kids ate a snack. Then they all got to choose which color they wanted to play with. Of course, all the girls chose pink and all the boys chose blue. Except Josiah. He wanted pink playdoh. No surprise there - he loves pink. And he's not embarrassed by it at all. In fact, I think that one of the big reasons he likes it is because it makes his brothers squirm so much! ;) If you ask him though, he likes pink because he likes girls, and girls like pink. That sounds like a pretty good reason to me!!

Here's Josiah and a couple of his friends eating their snacks,

and here they are with their pink (did I mention that it has pink glitter in it, too?) playdoh.

(Sorry Lyd, I didn't get a good picture of Griffin. But he was there and he was cute!)

Fun, fun, fun! Joey-Jo, I'm proud of you, that by the age of almost-four, you already have a good sense of who you are without caring too much about what others think. Cool dudes and strong men can certainly pull off pink if they want to!

Josiah certainly does have self-confidence! I'm very proud of that for him (and you), too. ...and it's also good that he's aware of what makes girls happy! :)
