We let Micah choose if he wanted to be in the parade with Conner and Dad or not. Not real sure about the rules, we did our best to prepare him for what to expect. So, with wisdom beyond his years he said, "Well, usually when someone says something like, 'There's going to be lots of walking and you'll have to walk the whole way, even if you're tired,' they really mean it. So I think I'll go with Mom." :)
...and going with Mom wasn't that bad - we got donuts and he got to play on my phone, always a treat!
Meanwhile, the Cub Scouts were making their final parade preparations, including patriotic hair color.
And as if we weren't proud enough already, we got an email yesterday morning. At the Lions Club Banquet for the 4th of July Parade, our Pack leaders learned that our little guys won the award for "Best Civic Entry." Way to go Pack 620!!!
...and then, the Parade Sponsor's (Babe's Chicken) Favorite Float award - the *big award* - was announced. That's right, Pack 620 got the "Babe's Choice" award, too! How exciting! (We like to think it had a little something to do with a certain charming blue-eyed young man who chose to walk and talk with the spectators. :)
So proud of you and your friends, sweet ConnerBug!
