Spittin' Pits

I am so blessed to have kiddos that love fruit. They love the good, but kind of run-of-the-mill apples and oranges and bananas. They get really excited in the late spring/early summer when Yogi's garden starts producing strawberries, blackberries, raspberries, and cantaloupe like crazy. And it's a treat when grapes are on sale.

But...it's a very short time of the year when cherries are readily available at pretty much any grocery store. And that time of the year just happens to be the same time of the year that we get the free goodies from Yogi's garden. So...even when they're on sale, we don't often get cherries because our fridge is already so full of free tasty fruit.

But last year we did buy a bag, and not only were they delicious but we had a fabulous cherry festival while we ate them. This year, we happened to be at Yogi and BooBoo's when she bought a bag. We simply had to have another cherry festival...and can you think of anything more fun than eating cherries outside, up in the playhouse, spitting pits 8 or 9 feet down to the ground? :)
